Frame Rate Matching (AFR) Notice on TV
▼

This message appears because Auto Frame Rate Matching (AFR) is enabled. When starting 24fps content (movies or series), the player switches the screen refresh rate to 23.976 Hz to prevent judder, and your TV displays a notification confirming the change.

Solutions to Remove the Notification

1. From App Settings (Stremio / Kodi / Player)

If you are using Stremio or a similar player:

  1. Go to app Settings (gear icon).
  2. Select Playback.
  3. Look for Match Frame Rate (AFR).
  4. Set to Disabled.

Note: Disabling this clears the popup immediately, although content will play at standard TV refresh rate (60Hz default).

2. From Android TV / Google TV / Chromecast Settings

If enabled system-wide on Android TV:

  1. Open system Settings on your TV / Box.
  2. Go to Display & Sound → Match content frame rate.

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps and disable Display over other apps (overlay) permission for the video player app.
Guide to prevent Stremio from sleeping on mobile
▼

While playing video on Stremio, the phone screen locks automatically due to inactivity. This is caused by aggressive power-saving policies.

Solution

Step 1: Allow Unrestricted Battery Usage

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Find and select Stremio.
  4. Tap Battery.
  5. Select Unrestricted (or Allow background activity / Do not optimize).

Step 2: Restart Your Phone

  1. Hold the power button.
  2. Tap Restart.
  3. Wait for phone to reboot.

Step 3: Test Playback

  1. Open Stremio.
  2. Play a video for several minutes.
  3. Verify screen stays awake and phone no longer locks.

If the Problem Persists

  • Check Sleeping Apps: Go to Settings → Battery & Device Care → Background usage limits and ensure Stremio is not listed in Deep sleeping apps.
  • Keep Stremio updated to the latest version.
  • Restart phone after modifying battery settings.

Expected Result: With Battery → Unrestricted enabled and after a reboot, Stremio will maintain playback without screen sleep.
